Without a doubt the hardest working NZ rock band, I Am Giant are returning to NZ for a nationwide tour to support the release of their highly anticipated debut album ‘The Horrifying Truth’.
Recorded in Sydney and Melbourne earlier this year with acclaimed producer Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, The Butterfly Effect), ‘The Horrifying Truth’ features the singles ‘City Limits’ ‘Neon Sunrise’, ‘Living the Crash’ plus the new single ‘And We’ll Defy’. The album will be released in New Zealand on August 1st by Sony Music.
With an impressive 37,000 plus loyal fans on Facebook and nearly 1,000 international members of their ‘IAG Army’, I Am Giant has the biggest on line following of any NZ Rock band, and this is testimony to the direct relationship the band have developed with their fans.
The bands strong work ethic has resulted in a packed diary – in the past year they have toured Australia twice, played Big Day Out in Auckland and Sydney, performed at Homegrown, played in Asia three times including support for Slash and Stone Temple Pilots in Singapore, toured the UK with Taking Back Sunday, played at the prestigious Viper Room and Mercury Lounge in USA, headlined at the influential Raw Power Rock Night in London as well as sold out their own show at the Camden Barfly. After their NZ tour they will be heading to Australia to tour with Dead Letter Circus before returning to the UK.
It is with a heavy heart that I Am Giant apologize to their Christchurch fans for not being able to visit on this tour. Originally a date was booked but due to all the recent aftershocks the venue was no longer sure if it would be open in time and there were no available alternatives. They hope that their Christchurch fans will make the short trip to Timaru and are welcome to come early and hang out at soundcheck. Shelton, Paul, Ed and Aja send their best wishes to everyone in Christchurch during this tough time.
