After stomping the NZ rock scene with the infectious Little Pills and Never See The Light singles, and racking up over 410,000 YouTube hits, Devilskin return with their highly anticipated debut album We Rise to be released 11 July 2014 and the band will immediately hit the road with a comprehensive NZ tour, presented by The Rock FM.

Devilskin are a four piece band from Hamilton, New Zealand formed in June 2010 comprising of: the captivating Jennie Skulander on vocals, the red bearded ‘evil twins’ The Nail and Paul Martin on guitars Guitar and young talent Nic Martin on Drums.

The band already have an enviable reputation as one of the hottest and dynamic live shows around and promise to step it up in celebration of the new album and tour. “This album has really exceeded all of our expectations” says Devilskin bassist Paul Martin. “We are all extremely proud of what we have created here, everyone has risen to the challenge and the result is stunning and very empowering. We can’t wait to deliver the new songs and the new show to our audience.”

The bands third single and video from We Rise is the anthemic Start A Revolution, a call to arms that showcases lead vocalist Jennie Skulander’s incredible talents and confronts the disease of apathy and mediocrity in society. Start A Revolution is accompanied by an electrifying video directed by Dimi Nakov.

We Rise was recorded at York St Studios in Auckland and Rockfield Studios in Monmouth UK and shows Devilskin possess a depth and maturity with their songwriting that is simply undeniable. The music is at times visceral, urgent and bombastic but also tempered with tenderness, empathy and love. “We Rise is a roller coaster of emotions and moods, just like life” enthuses Paul Martin “there’s definitely power and there’s definitely passion. The songs are very real, and brutally honest, just like our live show. Jennie, Nic, The Nail and myself are really excited to get on the road with this.”
