Amplify Rock Festival is blasting into Palmerston North this summer! Headlined by international hard rock band Wolfmother with very special guests, Devilskin, Amplify will take place at the The Ballroom, B&M Centre, on Friday 24 January 2020. Skinny Hobos, The Vibes and Dead Favours complete the epic line-up.
Led by vocalist/guitarist Andrew Stockdale, Wolfmother have amassed an international fanbase, playing to sell-out crowds around the world, and delivering show-stealing sets at major festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Reading, Rock in Rio, Download and more. The multi-platinum and award-winning bands’ hits include Joker & The Thief, Woman, New Moon Rising and Victorious. They return to NZ for the first time in 3 years and will play two exclusive shows only.
New Zealand's alt-metal superstars, Devilskin, have just completed a hugely successful tour of the country. The four-piece band from Hamilton formed in 2010 and are an accomplished group of musicians. The powerhouse vocals of Jenny Skulander are backed with guitar from Nail, Paul 'The Axeman' Martin on bass and his son Nic Martin on drums. Renowned for their intense, high-energy live performances, a Devilskin show is an experience not to be missed!
Skinny Hobos are a 2-piece alternative rock band from Auckland whose immense sound is gaining fans nationwide. Alex Elvis (guitar) and Texas Holdom (drums) are on a mission to leave no audience jaw un-dropped, securing festival slots, big name supports and a Vodafone Music Award nomination along the way.
The bohemian trio that makes up The Vibes, comprises enigmatic frontman Brendon Thomas, drummer Timothee Nolier and bassist Michael Anderson. They take their classic rock cues from the ghosts of Hendrix and his Woodstock luminaries. Their sound is retro, heavily blues, funk and soul and you’d be forgiven for thinking that The Vibes had teleported from the psychedelic 60’s.
Dead Favours are a growing force to be reckoned with, performing scorching live sets at several major festivals. They have just come off a sell-out tour with Villainy and their debut album released this year was co-produced by Shihad’s Tom Larkin. This bands star is on the rise, don’t miss them at Amplify this summer!
Tickets to Amplify are only $79 + Booking fee and go on sale 7pm, Monday 18 November via Ticket Rocket. Capacity is very limited so be quick as this event will sell out!
