Since its inception in 1999, Muzic.net.nz has given NZ music an outstanding platform which has stood the test of time. Showcasing the incredible music that comes from this country, we have strived and fought for our local bands and musicians to receive the recognition they deserve. Through our efforts, we have promoted and supported thousands of bands and musicians, helping them to gain comprehensive exposure for their music.
The NZ music industry can indeed be a battlefield, but we have chosen to stand up where others have sat down, we have chosen to move forwards where others have stepped backwards and we have said yes where others have said no.
With one of the
most extensive resources in the NZ music industry and many more exciting features planned for the future, every month is New Zealand music month here at Muzic.net.nz.
In the past 22 years, the Muzic.net.nz team has stayed true to our ethos of doing all that we can to support and promote our local bands and musicians. Our team of passionate volunteers have
gone above and beyond for NZ music, making Muzic.net.nz the longest serving all-inclusive New Zealand music platform currently in existence.
We here at Muzic.net.nz know that you oughta be in love with NZ music, and with plenty of NZ music bliss to share with everyone, you'll soon be loyal while also realising that you simply can't get enough. With such a huge variety of NZ music on offer, you'll soon be counting the beat and feeling as though you are home again, in the neighbourhood. You won't need to feel supalonely, as there's something for everyone to enjoy. So, put yourself into cruise control, fade away and become spellbound with everything that we have on offer. You won't think how bizarre, you'll think why does love do this to me?
With such a huge amount of information at your hands, Muzic.net.nz is the place to go for all your NZ music needs.
A lot has changed in our 22 years. One of the driving forces behind the formation of Muzic.net.nz was the lack of information available online for NZ music. We set out to change that, and change it we did.
Starting alongside the likes of Amplifier, NZmusic.com and Noizyland. There was no Facebook, Instagram or any other social media .. not even MySpace. There was no Bandcamp, Soundcloud or Spotify. The internet was obsessed with the likes of mIRC and ICQ.
Since 1999, Muzic.net.nz has gone from strength to strength. We have seen many great, and some not-so-great, things; celebrating our 20th, NZ Idol, the Aotearoa Music Awards going from an industry only event to being open to the public, the advent of Homegrown and NZ Music Month, the formation of the Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre, lots of different music TV (Space, C4, Hum, Squeeze, Juice, MTV, etc...), as well as the end of many great things - Big Day Out, Channel Z, and some of the greatest venues this country has ever seen, including Auckland's Kings Arms.
Muzic.net.nz loves NZ music, and we always will!
In addition to all the great services that Muzic.net.nz offers free of charge, we also manage the Aotearoa Music Industry Collective
(A-MIC) and Gig Space Facebook groups.
A-MIC is a safe and all-inclusive space designed with NZ bands and musicians in mind, where they can ask for advice, discuss future plans, share knowledge and learn about a wide range of topics through the informative articles we have made available on
both the Facebook group and on our brand-new website.
The Gig Space Facebook group is a place where anyone can advertise upcoming gigs or tours which are taking place in New Zealand.
