TRANZFER – Christchurch New Years Eve Event

Christchurch’s fire-singed Bedford Row is set to become the scene for a multi-stage, all-age New Years Eve celebration, Tranzfer. Co-ordinated by “White Elephant” a charitable trust established with a passion for dance music and promoting the continuation of a safe and positive dance culture in Christchurch.

“Increased access to audio technology and youth’s ability to embrace it means that the Christchurch dance scene is going through a kind of renaissance at the moment. This is in part due to prominence of New Zealand acts like Minuit, Solaa and local talent COSM ” says White Elephant Trust Chairperson, Anthony Rohan.

“This New Years Eve we're doing something special in Christchurch by combining some of New Zealand's premium and emerging live acts, bands, DJs, performers and visual artists. To celebrate with dance in Bedford Row, a place that has been through some tough times over the last year, allows new possibilities to rise from the ashes.” says Mr Rohan.

White Elephant has supported innovative dance events for over two years, including “Together” at Science Alive and “Moustachio Nuts” @ an Ash Street Warehouse, and currently incorporates White Elephant Radio which can be heard around St Albans/Shirley on 107.1 FM and over the internet at http://radio.we.org.nz. During 2006 the Trust aims to offers a “how to” of DJ-ing, production, event management and creative design through establishing an inner-city hub in Christchurch.

In the meantime, start getting excited! This New Years Eve you don't have to leave home to see one of the finest line-ups New Zealand has to offer...

Tickets
The first round of 300 tickets are available now for $45 each from Cosmic Corner nationwide (excluding Auckland) and Everyman Records, Nelson. Tickets will then be $60 for the next 300, and $80 after that.

A $10 discount is available upon presentation of either a Student ID or a Community Services Card.

Tranzfer is R15, Photo ID will be required by everyone.
An R18 licensed bar will be operating.
Firm but friendly security onsite for your safety.
