8am- February 23 1976. Radio U 1422AM first crackled into life.

What started as part of Orientation in 1976 by the Radio Society at the University of Canterbury is now a mature and well rounded 30 years old. And for thirty years, RDU has been so far ahead of Christchurch radio – we’re in a different time zone.
