Song Poets Corner (SPC) & Rockin Edin have a smorgasbord of shows at The Crown Hotel in Dunedin to catch in NZ Music Month 2006 starting with SPC’s annual song writing competition (5th May) Being judged this year by last years winner Niamh Deighton-O’Flynn. On the 6th of May there will be a private party with the Scurvy Dogs, The Bones and Scarface Claw. The Scurvy Dogs and friends promise the usual frolics laughs and mutany that the Scurvy Dog show’s have been known to provide.

Rockin Edin Unplugged 2 on Friday 12th May featuring the triumphant return of Dunedin band Replica who have been rockin’ and recording in Australia. Replica will be sharing the bill with local group percussion outfit Funkani, pop rock masters JB3, and Russian Guitar virtuoso Alexey Medvedev.

For lovers of heavier rock Rockin Edin Presents Metal Mayhem With Skull Duggery , Undoing the end , Injection of death and Taking The Fall on Saturday May 13th and Punk Mayhem on 20th of May with Four Floors Of Whores, infinite justice, the creeps. With Punk and Metal Mayhem we wish to bring together new and old of each style to truly represent Hard edge music of today.

Plus two very exiting open mic/Jam session With very special guests on Thursday 11th and 25th. These events have formed bands and seen the most unlikely musical matchings too numerous to mention. The event is known for talent and insanity.

For lovers of Dunedin Music a very special one time only treat Of SPC’s Dunedin singer songwriters night featuring the amazing talents of Dunedin Rock Royalty Bob Scott (The Bats/The Clean), and Martin Philipps (The Chills)(to be confirmed) will share the stage with the new breed Jae Bedford (Dust n’ Bones/JB3) and Niamh Deighton-O’Flynn (Real Green Dress) on Friday 19th May.
