Howling Bells Posted: Tue Sep 19, 2006 6:27 pm Off the back of the their Top 10 Alt chart single “Low Happening”, their newly released debut selftitled album, and fresh from a National Australian tour with Placebo, the Howling Bells are over the moon to announce they will be playing a one-off show in Auckland this October! Cited as “blues noir desolation ****” by Mojo and receiving an impressive 9/10 album review in NME, Howling Bells are casting their spell over unsuspecting public throughout the UK and are sure to leave a lasting impression here in New Zealand. The Howling Bells possess a sound reminiscent of another town, another time. They’ll take you to a place far eerier that Twin Peaks. They’ll spirit you to the abandoned Old West, to a town shrouded in snowfall, illuminated by campfire. In this town the beguiling melodies of this four piece will reel and roll about your head like desire and anticipatio - the twin themes of their newly released album. Howling Bells are:Juanita Stein - Lead Vocals/Guitar -Joel Stein - Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals - Brendan Picchio - Bass - Glenn Moule - Drums Prepare to be enchanted! Howling Bells Wednesday 4th October Kings Arms Tavern - Auckland with very special guests The Ruby Suns and Don Julio and The Hispanic Mechanic Tickets are on sale now and are available from Ticketek www.ticketek.co.nz and Real Groovy Records. |
