The NEW YEAH is coming Posted: Thu Dec 21, 2006 5:00 pm The New Yeah is coming - so why not bring it in with a bang?! Becks and Cuervo along with 4:20 and The Rising Sun help bring in the New Yeah. And with arguably the hottest line-up in the city, it looks set to be one of the best New Yeah parties yet! Once again a big comfy K'Rd courtyard will also be provided for those who like to nip outside with a drink and share a bit of air with the smokers. Happy New Yeah Auckland! The line-up includes three rooms, all with a different musical flavour in mind. Head down a back passage and find The Black Luck Club, where your hosts Phoebe & Grimas will delight lovers of rock n roll and soul. Fresh back from LA playing DJ sets for some of music's elite, Phoebe will be bringing her delicious style and sexy selections to the dancefloor - not to be missed! Also, playing live are The Tutts, who have had a very successful 2006 to date. With the success of their much-loved single "K" which is doing the damage on airwaves nationwide, and their video receiving loads of views on YouTube, their New Yeah performance could be the best yet! Also playing live are Motocade, who release their second EP next month; they also do a killer cover of Outkast's "Hey Ya". Seriously good. Take a left and find The Turnaround DJ's Manuel Bundy, Cian and Submariner bringing the niceness to the dancefloor in the only way they know how with soul, funk, hip hop and reggae music. If you've ever been to one of The Turnaround parties, you'll know they enjoy an unparalleled reputation for partying 'til the break of dawn! Up the stairs and you will be treated to the Lightspeed showcase with the New Yeah's only international artist, Ian Pooley, alongside Roger Perry and the North Shore Pony Club. Fresh from a successful American tour and dates in Europe, Ian will be playing just two dates in NZ. With his strong affinity for our country - where he has already written an album, and co-wrote the worldwide dance hit "Piha" with Dick 'Majik' Johnson - Ian also includes Wellington-based artist Recloose's "Dust" (Induceve Rmx) at #2 in his top 10 for 2006. Oh, and he knows how to rock a party! Earlybird tickets are available for $55 + b/f and $65 + b/f thereafter. All advance ticket holders will also receive a complementary Beck's or Cuervo on arrival. Tickets are available now from BurgerFuel (Auckland wide) www.burgerfuel.co.nz, Ticketek, Real Groovy, Conch, Beat Merchants, Route 66 or text 'yeah' to 858 from your Vodafone mobile Doors open 10.30pm www.lightspeed.co.nz |
