This year for part of our Phat 08 warm up we have decided to bring together NZ one of THE PHATTEST line ups ever to tour together nationally!

4th of Aug: Dunedin @ Refuel
5th of Aug: Queenstown @ Subculture
9th of Aug: Nelson @ Phat Club

BLACK SUN EMPIRE (NL)

One of the most popular acts from the Phat 07 taster series and Phat 07, Black Sun Empire (BSE) has been reigning through out the world! With many releases under their belt and their own Record label BSE Recordings their following and profile has continued to grow. They are currently playing gigs all over the world along side the biggest names in D&B, lately also incorporating live elements into their Dj-sets. Next up is a third album, this time of the 'various artists' variety featured new solo material, remixes, collaborations and solo tracks by some of the empire's favorite artists.

CONCORD DAWN (NZ)

Drum n Bass band Concord Dawn will be a name that could not escape notice. With possibly more placements at the number 1 slot than any band in living memory Concord Dawn [Evan Short and Matt Harvey] appear to be placed as the wunderkinds of NZ electronic music and set to break many of the barriers between electronic and non electronic music. Following the release they returned to a hectic DJ schedule to the far flung corners of the world. In between touring, they found time to begin formulating the ideas for their next release Chaos By Design, which will be the second album from their own imprint Uprising Recordings. Their success has created high expectations from punters worldwide, which has made them step their game up, to create an album which will not disappoint even the harshest of critics.
