Linkin Park announce NZ show
Posted: Thu Jul 26, 2007 4:42 pm
Prepare yourselves, rock fans. Linkin Park have announced they will perform one New Zealand show in Auckland in October - a gig that will also feature Chris Cornell.

Linkin Park will play Auckland's Vector Arena on Friday, October 12. Chris Cornell will open the show.

Linkin Park hit No. 1 in New Zealand with their most recent album Minutes to Midnight, but some fans weren't happy with the album's new sound.

Minutes to Midnight ditched the rap-rock sound favoured on their first two albums for a more measured, melodic approach.

Former Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell recently left his new band Audioslave to tour solo, performing songs from throughout his career.

Tickets for the show will be available through Ticketmaster.co.nz from August 6.

and now for the official press release...

At long last Linkin Park return to Australia and New Zealand in October to storm stages, get heads banging, feet stomping and bodies rockin’.

Lauded as one of the most dynamic live acts around, Linkin Park will bring a slew of aural treasures with them, treating the audience to a mix of old and new with a set list that ranges from the lead single What I’ve Done from the #1 album Minutes to Midnight, to favourites from Hybrid Theory, Meteora and everything in between.

Linkin Park head south after playing a sensational set at the Tokyo leg of Live Earth, a European tour, and North American dates of the 2007 Projekt Revolution tour, following the release of their hugely successful album # 1 album, Minutes to Midnight, the biggest selling new release of this year in the USA.

Joining Linkin Park is the remarkable talent of CHRIS CORNELL and his band

Founding member and charismatic vocalist with Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog, Chris Cornell, is arguably the single most dynamic rock and roll force produced by the grunge revolution of the 90’s – an iconic survivor.
