Pop star Christina Aguilera cancelled two shows last week - now hip-hop concert Roc Tha Block is postponing Thursday's show at Auckland's Vector Arena till September.

The three-hour show - headlined by hip-hop heavyweights The Game, Akon and Naughty By Nature - will now be held on September 1 at the same venue.

Rappers Juelz Santana and Mims are unable to make the new dates and are being replaced by Pitbull and Sisqo.

An advertisement published in a major daily newspaper blamed the postponement of the show on "unforeseen circumstances".

It is believed there has been a delay in the performers' immigration visas.

"We apologise to all ticket holders for any inconvenience caused by this change and look forward to bringing you the best show possible," promoters said.

It's further disappointment for concert-goers after last week's controversial no-show by a sick Christina Aguilera.

The pregnant pop star pulled out of two shows at Vector just hours before she was due on stage due to a flu virus, and furious fans who had booked flights and accommodation emailed Stuff.co.nz saying they would boycott her music.

Others were more sympathetic towards her and hoped she would return in the future.

But music fans disappointed by Aguilera and Rock the Block can console themselves with any number of concerts in the coming weeks.

English mope-rock band The Editors are performing at The Studio in Auckland tonight, Bloc Party are playing at Telstraclear Stadium on Wednesday night, and folk legend Bob Dylan is at a sold out Vector on Saturday night.

Rock Tha Block ticketholders may also want to check out Kanye West sound-alike Lupe Fiasco, who is performing at The Studio on August 16.
