2nd Motorhead show in the Naki
Posted: Fri Sep 21, 2007 10:58 pm
MOTÖRHEAD has announced a second exclusive New Zealand concert to their tour schedule. Kiwi fans are in for a unique slice of MOTÖRHEAD history when each ticket holder scores a one-off free "MOTÖRHEAD Taranaki" T-shirt to mark the event. The band now plays the TSB Stadium in New Plymouth, Taranaki on Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20.

As previously reported, organizers were plagued with die-hard fans stealing promotional posters for the show and so have reacted to this fan fervor by printing up T-shirts which will only be available at these shows. The shirts adhere to the iconic "MOTÖRHEAD England" warpig design. In its 30 year history, MOTÖRHEAD has only ever previously varied this for "MOTÖRHEAD Deutschland" so these shirts are sure to become highly prized items. "MOTÖRHEAD Taranaki" T-Shirts will not be for sale and only made available to show ticket holders.

The full billing for MOTÖRHEAD's New Zealand shows is:

Friday, October 19:

MOTÖRHEAD
8 FOOT SATIVA
DAWN OF AZAZEL
STICKY FILTH
WORLD WAR FOUR
PARIS IN FLAMES

Saturday, October 20:

MOTÖRHEAD
SINATE
CRIPPLE MR. ONION
STICKY FILTH
WORLD WAR FOUR
DUPLO

In addition, CHUGANAUT play the New Plymouth basement Bar as an after-show event on the Friday.

Check out a five-minute clip from the "Stage Fright" DVD, featuring the band talking about retirement and performance footage of the song "Whorehouse Blues":

And here is the official press release:

Motorhead has added a second date to next month's New Plymouth gig.

Concert promoter Andrew McManus announced yesterday that the British rockers will hit the stage on Saturday, October 20, at the TSB Stadium following their Friday night concert.

The second show will have a different line-up of support acts.

The Saturday gig opens with Sinate, Cripple Mr Onion, Sticky Filth, World War Four and Duplo.

On Friday, the line-up is 8 Foot Sativa, Dawn of Azazel, Sticky Filth, World War Four and Paris in Flames.

Venture Taranaki event manager Garry Sharpe-Young said ticket-buyers would certainly get their money's worth. By buying a ticket, fans receive both an exclusive Motorhead Taranaki T-shirt and a book.

In a world-first the band has licensed a special edition run of Motorhead T-shirts with "Motorhead Taranaki" emblazoned on the front.

"It's unique in the world," Mr Sharpe-Young said.
