Half Rippon 08 Tickets Sold!

Within two days of going on sale, half of the tickets available for the popular Rippon Open Air Festival have sold.

Rippon 08 is scheduled for Saturday 2nd February next year at Rippon Vineyard, Lake Wanaka. As there will be no gate sales, concert goers are moving quicly to ensure they don’t miss out.

With such artists as Shihad, Shapeshifter, Kora, Tiki, Little Bushman, Ladi6 and Anika Moa on the bill, spokeperson Clare Scurr says it’s easy to see why people are securing their tickets even earlier that for the 06 event. “There seems to be plenty of repeat customers,” she says, “who have no intention on missing out on great summer music at an unbelievable venue.”

Once again this year the capacity crowd for Rippon is 5000 people. Director Lynne Christie is keen to keep this as the ceiling number, in order to maintain the intimate and relaxed atmosphere the festival has become known for.

Tickets are $115.00 for the day event, and $75.00 for the after party. Booking fees apply. Tickets are available through Ticket Direct on 0800 4TICKET. They are also available online through www.ticketdirect.co.nz

The line up for the after party, which starts at 10pm and runs until after dawn, at a location yet to be released, includes Recloose, Tyra and the Tornadoes, Downtown Brown, Jason Kyle, and The Turnaround.

Since 2000, Lake Wanaka SouNZ Incorporated has gifted over $17000 into such community ventures as the Infinity skate park, Pembroke Park tree planting, Mt Aspiring College, local primary schools, Ruby Island, and Wastebusters.
