Solid Entertainment and Groove Guide present

By popular demand – and for the first time in New Zealand.……

COHEED AND CAMBRIA > THE POWERSTATION > SATURDAY MARCH 29TH

ALL AGES AND FULLY LICENSED > LIMITED EARLYBIRD TICKETS AVAILABLE AT $49

Bringing their high concept music to a fanatical fan base, eager fans will be thrilled to hear that Coheed and Cambria announce their long awaited debut in New Zealand. Unable to play here on their last tour a NZ show was made a priority for their 2008 world tour. The amount of fans flying to Australia for their shows in 2006 and the volume of correspondence received from NZ was a message received LOUD and clear.
It would be hard to find a band with grander artistic scope than Coheed and Cambria. Over the course of six years and four groundbreaking albums, the New York foursome has diligently developed a unique sound combining forward-thinking classic rock with strong pop sensibilities and intricate musicianship.

Their songs are packed with undeniable hooks and contemporary textures, but their sonic vistas are reminiscent of great progressive and atmospheric bands from the '60s and '70s. Coheed and Cambria are sculpting from a mighty palate that ranges all the way from Mars Volta back to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd via heavy metal pioneers Iron Maiden.

Lead singer Claudio Sanchez writes a comic book series The Amory Wars that relates to Coheed and Cambria’s albums. The band's latest creation, the euphoric No World For Tomorrow, (Sony) was massively well received (Billboard chart debut at #6). This is the album Coheed and Cambria fans have been waiting for. Conceptually, it fulfils its purpose marvelously.

The band have just completed a 2007 Warped Tour headlining spot and are currently playing a sold out tour in the UK (capacities up to 6000). Then it’s back to the States for a 25 city USA tour with Linkin Park before heading over for some big Australian shows and their first appearance in NZ.

Live, Coheed and Cambria expand their studio line up from four to seven musicians on stage, three more reasons, as if you needed any, to make this much anticipated concert a must-see event!
