Prepare yourself for the aural delight that will be the first installment of Onefest in 2008. Radio One has lined up an unbelievable free event for all our loyal Onecard holders. The winners of last year’s bNet award for most promising act, Auckland’s COLLAPSING CITIES are now getting ready to hit the road with their brand spanking new album Elixir Always – their highly anticipated debut out on April the 7th on the Pastel Pistol label. BNet chart toppers like “So I Said Last Weekend” and “Fear Of Opening My Mouth” sit alongside live favorites like “Eli’s In A Cult Now” & “In The Valley” and half a dozen more slices of twisted brilliance. Catch them at live Onefest before they head off-shore to the U.K in May & crumble some northern hemisphere architecture.

Fleshing out this amazing double header will be THE COSHERCOT HONEYS. Since 2006, they’ve been amongst the most hotly-tipped vibe-peddlers in Auckland’s late-night dives, clubs, and garages. They released their debut EP We’re All Lions to critical acclaim late last year. After dominating indie radio with tracks like Mr Dangerous & the title track from the E.P, it’s no wonder Radio One is super stoked to present the band for the first time ever to Dunedin audiences.

Rounding out the night in true R1 style will be our very own BEST BOYS ELECTRIC (a.k.a Hugh Kapow & Mattatat). Two fine young men who know how to pump up the jam & drop the grooves between bands & beyond to keep the night rolling. & I hear there’s denim hotpants involved!
