SkyCity Auckland, the nation's premier venue for live New Zealand music, is getting behind NZ Music Month once again, with a fantastic line-up of local talent throughout the month of May 2008.

SkyCity Auckland General Manager, David Christian, says SkyCity is proud to showcase what will be one of the country's strongest line-ups of local acts to support NZ Music Month.

"NZ Music Month is a great opportunity to get together and celebrate the talent and diversity of our home grown stars."

"SkyCity Auckland already features free live music and entertainment seven days a week and we've gone all out for NZ Music Month 2008 to bring some of New Zealand's hottest bands to perform at the fantastic SkyCity Theatre, Bar 3 and Atrium Bar. There's certainly something for everyone," he says.

Katchafire w/ House Of Shem - Wednesday 21 May @ 8:30pm

New Zealanders must love reggae due to the huge success of Hamilton's Katchafire, who have emerged as one of the most popular bands in the country. Their catchy debut album, the prophetically named 'Revival', sold in excess of 30,000 copies (double platinum) and they scored massive hits with songs like 'Giddy Up', the biggest selling single of 2002. Bic Runga - Thursday 22 May @ 9pm

One of New Zealand's most successful singer-songwriters is performing her beautiful brand of haunting popular music for one night only at the SkyCity Theatre for NZ Music Month. Bic's first solo album, 'Drive', which includes crowd favourites 'Sway', 'Good Morning Baby' and 'Bursting Through', as well as the title song, debuted at number one in the New Zealand charts and she has since become one of the highest-selling New Zealand artists of all time.

Nesian Mystik w/ Che Fu and The Krates - Thursday 29 May @ 9pm

Formed in 1999, at Auckland's Western Sprins College, Nesian Mystik, has become one of the biggest names in New Zealand music. With a string of hit songs including 'It's On', 'For The People' and 'Unity', as well as four-times platinum album 'Polysaturated' and the gold-selling 'Freshmen', Nesian Mystik's beats and rhymes continue to strike a chord with audiences.

Hollie Smith - Friday 30 May @ 9pm
