RE: judas priest is coming!! Posted: Sat Jun 21, 2008 2:30 pm They're one of the fist metal bands I got into and still listen to them frequently... one of my fav's. But alas, I can't afford it and don't forsee being able to Grrrr AUCKLAND And it's not the original linep by any stretch. Halford's not even the first vocalist |

RE: judas priest is coming!! Posted: Sat Jun 21, 2008 4:52 pm Absolutely, best line up for the band ever. Poor ol Halford is sounding a bit worn now but he's still my idol.. the man is a legend. |

RE: judas priest is coming!! Posted: Sun Jun 22, 2008 7:32 pm K.I.N.G i really think you should make the journey up here to come see priest. i mean whens the next time you are gonna be able 2 see them? it will be well worth your effort and money. im not a rich guy and i was planing on taking a loan out to see them and opeth in brisbane. thats a lost thought now that theyve announced a show here. but a litlle sacrafice is worth a memory that will last you the rest of your life. their new album is pretty mean, quite out there but still a really good listen. also i really like cavalera conspiracy. is any one else a fan of them?? |

RE: judas priest is coming!! Posted: Mon Jun 23, 2008 12:46 pm Mate I've already broken the bank several times to see bands I really wanna see. Over the last fifteen years I've probably spent at least $10,000 on travel and gigs from everywhere between ChCh and Auckland. I'd die happy never having to see Auckland airport again I'm at the stage in life now where I can actually say I'm not gonna go see my favourite band and be totally cool with it. As for loans, I've just borrowed $12,000 from my bank to get me and the missus out of the finance trap. Cavalera Conspiracy... hmmmm. Mixed feelings on that band. Max is recycling a lot of his old cliche's, and there's some forgettable, "wallpaper" tracks on the album, but also some REALLY GOOD grooves and riffs going on. 6/10 in my book. Good to see the Cavalera brothers together again though. |

RE: judas priest is coming!! Posted: Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:20 pm well then fair enough. i spose its understandable that you can't make up here. i feel sorry for you guys down in the south island coz it seems (at least from this end) that very few big acts head ur way. unfair if u ask me. |

RE: judas priest is coming!! Posted: Mon Jun 23, 2008 3:01 pm Yeah it is a bit suck being down here and missing all the good stuff. But on the other side of the coin, I can see where promotors are coming from - it's VERY expensive to move a large international act around a country, and they need absolute guarantee's it's financially viable to do so. |

RE: judas priest is coming!! Posted: Mon Jun 23, 2008 4:36 pm I have grave concerns about the sound quality, given the much derided, and now famous "Vector Echo". You'd think acoustics would have been a consideration when building that thing. |

RE: judas priest is coming!! Posted: Mon Jun 23, 2008 11:29 pm i went to vector for the first time about two months ago to see korn and chimaira and i was on the ground in front of the stage and never heard any echo but my bro was sitting right against the side wall and said it was pretty sh#t, especially for the opening acts, not so much for korn. iv heard many similar stories that its crap if ur seated and great if ur on the ground. it all depends on where you are. which is why im getting in early and getting some genral admition seats!!! |

RE: judas priest is coming!! Posted: Tue Jun 24, 2008 7:49 am A good mate of mine went to The Cure up there and said while the band was great, it was near impossible to tolerate the piss-poor sound. If you're not right up front it's harsh as hell, really "bright" sounding. |
