Ragamuffin Children back in New Zealand

Ragamuffin Children are holding a show on Saturday 11th October to Celebrate their return to New Zealand. They have been travelling for the last three months in Europe, working on ideas for their new album, and playing shows in London and Jersey. In true ragamuffin style they are excited over the prospects of beautiful acoustics, free tea for everyone and the use of a grand piano at the evening concert they will be holding at the Great Hall at the Art Centre in Christchurch.

Ragamuffin Children are an up and coming alt-folk duo from North Canterbury. Anita Clark's compelling voice has drawn comparisons to Bjork, and Jolie Holland. Their music is mesmerising, beautiful and exquisitely performed, while Anita and Brookes onstage presence is entertaining but humble. Last year the girls released their debut album 'Werecat Lullabies', and have since toured the country twice, and supported Jose Gonzalez.

The show will be the only one the Ragamuffin Children will be performing in Christchurch before flying up to Wellington to record their second album with Lee Prebble at the Surgery. Lee is well known for his work with groups including The Phoenix Foundation, The Black Seeds and Trinity Roots.

The Ragamuffin Children will be showcasing songs from the new album alongside some of their older material.

They will be supported on the night by Dermania Lloyd of Cloudboy fame who has recently started performing again after an absence from the live scene.
