Tauranga! final show of the year for the nox Posted: Wed Dec 3, 2008 8:27 pm EQWANOX have had one hell of a year Releasing their debut album ' All Roads Lead From Here' online Self releasing their single Not Coming Home Finlist at the KFC Sounds from your hometown competition Touring the online release of the album Supporting Seether at Vector Arena as well as playing with big NZ bands The Bleeders and Autozamm to name a few and almost completing a North Island tour....they have just one show left! and its this Saturday at Brewers BAr In Tauranga/The Mount, its with Quarter2 and November Zulu and is $10 at the door So if youve missed Eqwanox this year come out and have a great night! because the shows on this tour have brought out the best in the band! If your not convinced go to www.myspace.com/eqwanox and listen to some songs and read the info below! ‘I like the name Eqwanox, it’s spelt differently and that’s what you need, something that’s different from the rest so you can market the idea’ - GILBY CLARKE (Guns N Roses//Rockstar Supernova) EQWANOX A Rock band from Waikato, New Zealand with a Pop-Punk/Grunge feel and a listenable edge. They were formed in 2004 by James Hanright, Nick Douch and Aaron Clark and have built up a diverse fan base. With a stronger presence in the youth market through playing All Ages gigs and their Myspace site, they nonetheless command respect from the older demographic through their numerous R18 shows. They started their recording career in 2005 doing demos of songs which paid off well for them. They made their radio debut in the same year with the song Less Than Negative when it appeared on The Rock FM as the ‘Demo Of The Week’ and Early demo versions of the songs Killing Time and Falling were featured on C4TV shows Studentville and M.E.A.T.Y. The band filmed a video for Killing Time and it was picked up by ALT T.V where is still receives airplay and the song has been used in an N.Z surfing video. EQWANOX have had the priviladge of playing alongside many great international and local artists such as Seether, Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), The Bleeders, Autozamm, Stylus, The Rabble, The Managers, The Midnight Youth, Los Muertos, My Life Story, Streetwise Scarlet, Falter and 5 Star Fallout. Eqwanox have also made it to the finals in band competitions, some of these include the World Battle Of The Bands (National Final aired on ALT TV), Sounds From Your Hometown and the Axces Bar Rattle The Room competition. They have also been a guest band at Smokefree Rockquest shows in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Their debut album ‘All Roads Lead From Here’ was Engineered/Produced/Mixed by Chazz Rabble at Number 8 Wire Recording Studio (The Rabble, Goodnight Nurse) with help from Hook at Dudley Studios (Goodnight Nurse, 48may) in late 2007 and was released online in September 2008 to Itunes, Digirama.co.nz, vmusic and amplifer and has so far seen the songs Killing Time, Not Coming Home, 21st Story and Outside receive airplay on New Zealand radio. The band self released the single Not Coming Home to promote the online release of the album. EQWANOX are driven to succeed, yet determined to have fun in the process, and have since the beginning had the attitude "Don't wait for things to happen, make things happen". EQWANOX proudly support 'The New Zealand Child Cancer Foundation' ( www.childcancer.org.nz ), because "We believe kids should not die before their parents" .
