Charlotte is also your hostess with the mostess Wednesday 25th March 2009 WAITAKERE SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE, 8.00pm Shona Laing The Magnets Charlotte Johansen Venue: Titirangi Memorial Hall, Top of South Titirangi Road Hosted by Charlotte Johansen. Titirangi welcomes back home one of it's favourite daughters. Shona Laing makes a rare appearance with her band to present songs old and new. Everything from classics such as, "Glad I'm not a Kennedy" and "Soviet Snow" to a song inspired by living in the Waitakere's. Take this opportunity to hear in concert, one of New Zealand's most moving and original voices. The Magnets are Ben Collier (GoldenHorse, The Nukes), brother Tom Collier and multi-instrumentalist Marcus Lawson (Lucid3, Dave Dobbyn). They deliver a set of originals drawing on blues and alt-country styles, with vocals sometimes reminiscent of the Beach boys and CSNY, they are an audience favourite. Hosted by local event creator, performer and great songwriter in her own right, Charlotte Johansen, who will be joined on stage with her band.
