Coca-Cola lifts the lid on Summer with Midnight Youth and Dane Rumble nationwide beach tour

14 December, 2009 - - Put on your jandals, crank up the barbie, slap on some sunscreen and head to the beach because Coca-Cola is bringing your favourite Kiwi bands to New Zealand’s holiday hotspots this summer.

Helping you create your own little slice of summer heaven, Midnight Youth and Dane Rumble will headline the Coca-Cola Bands on the Beach Tour in the gorgeous surroundings of Mt Maunganui, Whangamata, Gisborne, Nelson and Auckland’s Piha. These top acts will be supported by talented newcomers, Ivy Lies, with the best part being, it’s all on us.

Watch out for all three bands’ own unique renditions of the Coca-Cola ‘Open Happiness’ summer anthem that charted earlier this year; to be heard live for the first time.

Midnight Youth frontman, Jeremy Redmore, says the band are really excited to be involved with the Coca-Cola tour and travel to some of the country’s sweetest summer spots.

“It’s the ultimate really. Good times, good music and good places. We love the summer beach missions just like any kiwi and Coca-Cola seems to go hand-in-hand.”

Keeping the good times rolling between the stellar line-up will be DJs spinning the tunes, band signings and lots of giveaways. Expect the unexpected with fun and games such as bubble fights, giant twister and the world first launch of the ‘ZURF® ’ at the Coca-Cola Bands on the Beach Tour. It’s going to be huge.

Cousin of the ever-fun and well-known ZORB® globe, the ZURF® is a giant inflatable hamster-like tube you can climb inside with your mates for a roll around on the water.
