THERE’S SOMETHING IN THE BEER!
LIQUORLAND NEW ZEALAND BEER FESTIVAL RETURNS TO AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON IN 2010

Auckland, Dec 2009 – We mow our hedges with a lawnmower, have just sent our first rocket to space, and we make MacGuyver look like a school boy when it comes to getting out of a tight spot of bother with a piece of no. 8 wire. What is it that fuels our creativity and spirit that simply finds a way through against all odds? Is there something in the water?

Craft New Zealand brewers embody the spirit of our nation, turning the world’s most pure ingredients into our greatest competitive advantage. The result of their craft fuels creativity across the country. It’s not the water. There’s something in the beer!

When a brewer stands in their community and offers the fruits of their labour, foodies, musicians, and the sun-gods unite to create an occasion we would never want to leave. It is but a few who put New Zealand on the map with grace, dignity and that reknowned kiwi modesty. The Liquorland New Zealand Beer Festival is an invitation for the masses to do just this… In a market that has seen overall volume decline, these entreprenuers who hone their craft day in and day out with passion and grace have bucked the trend, seeing exponential growth.

What is our public saying? When the chips are down, we want to spend our money wisely, spending that little bit more on treats is worthwhile. The craft beer inustry in New Zealand is that treat to accompany times of relaxation, socialising and escapism.

New Zealand, there’s something in our beer!

So, the reason for this celebratory press release? The Liquorland New Zealand Beer Festival returns to Auckland and Wellington in 2010. Now in its fourth year the Festival has gone from strength to strength as the uniquely Kiwi mix of beer, food, music and summer creates an unforgettable atmosphere for good times with great mates.

The Auckland festival at Ellerslie Racecourse falls on Saturday 13th February, the day before all lovers celebrate Valentines Day! What better way to show the one you love how much you love them by taking them to a day of pure indulgence in all things good: live music, great food and the best in beer New Zealand has to offer! And a mere three weeks later it’s Wellingtons’ turn at Westpac Stadium on Saturday 6th March. See you there!
