Auckland venue The Tuning Fork is celebrating its 8th birthday with a very special series of events this June.
Giving you plenty of reason to stay in Auckland over Queen's Birthday weekend, the inaugural Birthday Series will see four of the biggest acts in Aotearoa play intimate sets in this storied venue, nestled in the wing of the almighty Spark Arena.
See The Beths, Jakob and The Phoenix Foundation up close and personal, laugh your pants off at the hotly anticipated Comedy Night, and delight the littlies at Anika Moa’s Songs for Bubbas family show.
Bringing a particularly special edge to the Series, Wellington favourites The Phoenix Foundation will perform their seminal album Buffalo in its entirety for the very first time at their show on Saturday 5 June. The iconic record celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020 and this is a rare opportunity to hear it live.
Since launching as a venue in 2013, The Tuning Fork has championed the local music industry, providing a platform for both local and international artists to showcase their talent.
Having been transformed from a pre-show bar for Spark Arena into a standout venue in its own right, it has traditionally been a home to country, folk and Americana, hosting standout performances from Justin Townes Earle, Tony Joe White, Jason Isbell and Margo Price along the way. It has also presented some of music’s biggest pop acts, including Billie Eilish, Lizzo, and the critically-acclaimed Idles and Orville Peck.
The Birthday Series offers The Tuning Fork an opportunity to reveal its recent rebrand. The refreshed new logo design references the motion of soundwaves and the venue’s focus on high-quality audio at its shows.
Tickets to all Birthday Series shows go on sale at 9am on Monday 10 May and are expected to move quickly. Join the waitlist on Moshtix.

REBRAND BACKGROUND:
“As part of the lead-up to our 8th anniversary we have undertaken a brand refresh. While retaining the now iconic Tuning Fork name we set out to create a look that reflects and embraces the growing diversification of the music genres represented in the live room. The Tuning Fork’s brand aligns with our intention to create a showcase venue for new music discovery, where rising acts take to The Tuning Fork stage as a platform to launch their careers to the next level. We’ve chosen a brand aesthetic that is genre-neutral and equally at home with the Americana, indie, rock, pop, hip-hop, comedy, and community events that now regularly take place at The Tuning Fork.” – Finn McLennan-Elliott, The Tuning Fork Venue Coordinator
