The Julie Lamb Outfit are embarking on their 4 stop South Island tour leg from Dog with Two Tails on 23rd July.
The eight member strong funk-pop collective are bringing their full crew south - yep - horns, backing vocals and all - and as an introductory bonus the gigs are priced at 'Pay What You Want' SAY WUT?! That's right.
The octet will be hopping across the strait to Dunedin, Oamaru, Christchurch and Barrytown for a continuation of The Barmy Jarmies tour. The tour is a celebration of five studio albums and fifty recorded tunes - including their latest top ten offering How Humans Think.
The band are excited to be sharing their tunes at new venues with new mates. Existing mates say lovely things like this:
"Anyone who has seen the Wellington-based Julie Lamb Outfit live, knows they are as tightly woven as that machine knitted jumper your mum made for you in the 70s - and keep you feeling just as warm." - Clarie Symonds, Freelance Journalist
“It’s great to hear some funky pop-rock with good old fashioned backing vocals and horn parts too. A class act made all the better by the joi-de-vivre it encapsulates and projects." - Bing Turkby, NZ Musician
While the Barmy Jarmies title by no means indicates a compulsory pyjama dress code, it's encouraged... always. (Who doesn't like a good winter onesie?) But flannels or not, the Julie Lamb Outfit will leave you feeling cosy and rosy.
Mischief, Stories, Sentiment, Groove - not always in that order...
