"Making electronic music as deepState has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me" says Jess. "There are so many ways to create an electronic track and I've enjoyed exploring some of the different approaches you can take to creating an electronic song so much. I'm really excited to have my quarantine fuelled obsession out in the world."
Reflecting on MMXXI Jess notes "this release really allowed me to indulge a lot of my musical interests and influences. I've learnt so much during the process of making MMXXI, not just about making music but also the way in which I like to work, weaving in aspects of the genres I love to create something unique. I feel like my musical interests are always shifting, recently I've really been enjoying trying out new sounds and methods which I look forward to sharing with you in the future."
To celebrate the release of MMXXI, deepState has organised a stacked line up to perform at Whammy Backroom tonight featuring happy hardcore duo Van Staden & Bohm and Sunreturn album Baby Zionov.
$10 pre-sales are available from Undertheradar.co.nz. Tickets will be $20 on the door.
