The Others Way Festival returns to take over Tāmaki Makaurau's Karangahape Road district for Auckland's most exciting music festival and street party of 2022!

Today, the festival adds ten new heavy-hitters to the already stacked lineup including Troy Kingi, Diggy Dupé and Julia Deans.

Also joining the festivities: Christchurch dream-pop band There's a Tuesday, Psych-Fuzz two-piece Earth Tongue, Pōneke's Flying Nun star Vera Ellen, and indie goodness from Lips.

Plus more music from synth-techno-pop Hybrid Rose, prolific singer-songwriter Dianne Swann, Southland DJ/Producer Eden Burns and Tāmaki's electronic maestro Power Nap.

As announced in November, The Others Way Festival will now be a one-off midsummer celebration on Auckland's Anniversary Weekend, Saturday, January 29 2022. Kicking off at 4 pm, brand new stages, venues, and schedules are set to take advantage of our glorious hot days and long golden summer evenings. Stay tuned for more surprises about The Others Way on Flying Out's Facebook and Instagram.

Festival spokesperson, Matthew Davis reflects:

"This has been one of the most challenging and complex periods for the NZ music community. From the 2020 festival cancelling through to lockdowns and date changes, we want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported and worked with us through it.

Not only can we look forward to seeing the festival go ahead in January 2022, but we are also thrilled to present another amazingly talented and diverse all local lineup across some of the finest live music venues in Auckland. Plus, we have some exciting site changes and additions to the set-up that we will be announcing soon."

The Others Way has long been recognised for the vibrancy of the industry and local business and Jamey Holloway, CEO of The Karangahape Road Business Association, says, "The Others Way is a total calendar highlight for Karangahape Road. Can't wait for the summer edition."

THE 2022 FESTIVAL LINEUP FEATURES;

Electronic folk artist Anthonie Tonnon, the original lineup of the 70's glam-rock band Space Waltz, one of Aotearoa's most potent psychedelic, dream-pop artists of the decade Fazerdaze, fan favourites, eclectic pop-star Princess Chelsea and fuzz-pop heartbreakers Voom.

Beloved indie heroes, The Beths, who was scheduled to perform, will instead be taking Karangahape Road to the world as they tour the United States and Europe - and we wish them well. Fur Patrol will also not be performing as they cannot get a critical member back over from Melbourne for the date - Julia Deans will instead be performing solo. And, Proteins Of Magic who were scheduled to play in 2021 have headed back to Nashville.
