Gig & Concert News - Kendall Elise’s tour to proceed under red light restrictions

Kendall Elise’s tour to proceed under red light restrictions

31 January 2022 - 0 Comments

Aotearoa award-nominated singer-songwriter, Kendall Elise, has announced her long-awaited Let The Night In tour will go ahead under the current red light setting.

Unfortunately the Gisborne show, that had been scheduled for Friday February 25, is cancelled due to venue restrictions. All Under the Radar ticket holders will be contacted regarding refunds.

Otherwise, the tour will proceed and kicks off with the first show on Saturday February 19 at Kumeu’s The Arts Centre

“We place huge importance on the safety of our audience, the venue staff, and the band – so we will be running each show with the maximum capacity for each venue under the red light setting,” says Kendall Elise.

“Vaccine passes will be required. Everyone will be seated and mask wearing is encouraged. Our show is well suited to an intimate environment and nothing will be lost by having the reduced capacity.”

Due to the red light restrictions, the Auckland show at the Wine Cellar on Friday April 1 is now at capacity and sold out. There are limited tickets remaining for the Kumeu show on Saturday February 19 – punters are encouraged to get in quick.

Kendall Elise released her incredible new album, Let The Night In, towards the end of 2021 and has received rave reviews – including being selected by Graham Reid (The Listener, Elsewhere) as a top album pick of 2021.

“Although nominally along the folk-country axis, Elise again extends her musical palette into a soulful torch ballad (‘I Want’), a vigorous rockabilly rejig of the old Chinn-Chapman/Suzi Quatro song ‘Your Mama Won’t Like Me’, the fragile acoustic ballad ‘Who Kissed Who’ and the jangly, driving pop ‘You Gotta Be (A Little Mad)’, which hits a midpoint between Grace Slick and Stevie Nicks.”  – Graham Reid.

Recorded at Neil Finns’ Roundhead Studios and mastered for Vinyl by KOG Studios, Let The Night In is a complementary mix of country music that perfectly depicts the vulnerability of humans. Each track with its own unique sound, all fitting within the context of the album's themes of reaching catharsis.

Let The Night In (which features the APRA Best Country Music Song 2021 finalist, ‘Between Hello and Goodbye’) raises the bar for one of New Zealand’s most intriguing artists.
