Indie-Folk Artist Tess Liautaud Releases third single 'Stay Ashore'

13 May 2022 - 0 Comments

Tess takes a dip into the past and comes up between waves of nostalgia, empathy, and tenderness on the track Stay Ashore.

''Days are long but you have to stay strong. A song for the seasons, and for the years, of a life lived and loved.''

The third single from Tess Liautaud's forthcoming debut, self-titled album has echoes of the roots-folk honesty of the likes of Glen Hansard, Ray Lamontagne with the same healthy dose of indie rock cool. This breezy slice of deep devotion will give you the feels on a level we’ve all had at one time or another while offering a taste of an underground sound on the cusp of melancholia.

''Written and channeled as a conversation between my grandparents, became a very nostalgic song and much more melancholic than I expected''

Tess Liautaud has also announced the release date for her debut album, out June 17th 2022

Tess is a Franco-American singer-songwriter, spending her early years between the eastern city of France, Strasbourg, and New York, including a few years covering herself in music in Liverpool in the UK, she then became a regular in the music scene in Paris, where she performed nightly spending a couple of years honing her performing craft, before making the move to New Zealand.

“Tess may be thousands of kilometers away from home but the universal music of language has given her plenty of grounding in the land of the long white cloud ”

Influenced by songwriter giants like Bruce Springsteen, John Prine, or Joni Mitchell, Tess' soulful voice sends shivers down your spine, with songs stemming from explorations of the soul on the road in NZ, reflections on change and moving forward, stories connecting cities to mountains, and back to the sea...

Not unfamiliar to the likes of Ray LaMontagne and Glen Hansard in her folk roots output, her sound also spans the indie-rock genre and will get you on your feet with some classic guitar sounds and playful hooks.
