New Zealand pop punk quintet Finger Tight release their third single of the year, My Inner Child Is In Amityville from
forthcoming album Messages From The End Of The World, out Friday October 21.
The bouncy new track is recorded and produced in-house by vocalist and songwriter Sam Rogers and mastered by George Lever at G1 Studios (Loathe, Thornhill, Pridelands). My Inner Child Is In Amityville was written in the aftermath of revelations realised by frontman Rogers on his childhood trauma. Once the dust had settled, Rogers
was able to empower himself by his own progression.
"The uncomfortably honest lyrics acknowledge the harm and the impact that childhood trauma has, but I found I was able to empower myself and grow through it to reach the other side,"
explains Rogers.
"We hope that listeners who have experienced a similar past can seek refuge in the words and empower themselves through to the next step of their own journey."
Previously described as ‘Kiwi A Day To Remember’, Finger Tight explore a sound that ranges from skatepark pop punk all the way to metalcore, experimenting with the in between.
Since their initiation in 2021, Finger Tight have made waves in the
local NZ scene, adding multiple sold out shows to their achievements list and consistently bringing energy and passion to their packed out rooms. Kev Rowland of Muzic.net.nz described the outfit as "
pop punk with real balls" and the band's live show promises nothing less.
Their fresh new single is the third to release this year and also marks the third to be pulled from the band's debut album, set for release in October.
To celebrate all new material, Finger Tight have announced an all ages launch show that will take place Saturday November 5 with special guests Kindred Vice. Tickets on sale now via Eventbrite.
