False Victim is a groovy, sing along follow up to Quarter to Ten released earlier this year. Paul Mallon's bass intro, lead guitarist Lowell Mallon’s laid back solo and David Stack's growing vocals all held together by Scott Lucas on the drum kit.
Recorded and expertly engineered at Cannon Hill Studios by Steve Fowler, the track was produced by the band who also wrote the music. Rhythm guitarist Ian Cartwright’s lyrics question the realities of privileged lives being lived out in social media.
Recent singles Quarter to Ten and Blistered Hills both garnered international attention being playlisted on over 80 indie radio stations and growing their following and capturing local attention.
2022 continues to be busy year for the band having opened for The Jordan Luck Band for four gigs in August on their Winter Road Trip, they are now back in the studio recording more new material.
Ahead the Smokefest BBQ Festival the band have a Christchurch playing at The Good Home Ferrymead on Saturday 19th November, with special guests Friday Night Breakfast – an up and coming all girl band from Kaiapoi.
False Victim is a cruisy summer track from a band described as an enjoyable nostalgic trip into the future.
