Wellington four-piece Hans Pucket are performing two album release shows to celebrate their second full-length album No Drama out November 4th via Carpark Records.

The two-date tour will commence with a special hometown show at Wellington’s Vogelmorn Hall on Saturday, November 5th, with special guests and friends, recent Flying Nun signee indie-pop-rocker Vera Ellen and the synth-pop magic of shannengeorgiapetersen followed by a performance in Auckland at The Tuning Fork on Sunday, November 6th with RnB alternative hybrid project SKILAA and the psychedelic pop, keyboard party jams of Power Nap. Both shows are all ages and licensed, and tickets are on sale now.

Says Callum, from Hans Pucket; “Our motto in Hans Pucket is work hard play hard, and boy have we been working hard. Now is the time for us to celebrate this incredible album the only way we know how… a 2-night all-ages mini tour party weekend!”

Adds Oliver, “I can’t wait to get this album out and for everyone to hear it. I’m really proud of these songs, it will be a huge thrill to finally get to play them all live!”

No Drama gleefully captures the all-too-common twenty-something anxieties of talking too much and then being unable to find the right words to say. The album came together over several years, and during its creation, the band consisting of brothers Oliver (vocals, guitar) and Callum Devlin (bass), and drummer Jonathan Nott added multi-instrumentalist Callum Passels, who provided all the horn arrangements on the LP. Recorded with Jonathan Pearce of The Beths at his Auckland studio, the album is full of big leaps, immaculate arrangements, and a ton of immediate grooves. The result is Hans Pucket’s most sparkling and confident collection yet. While it’s danceable and fun, it’s also a thoughtful exploration of anxiety, a call for empathy in a turbulent time, and a relatable reminder that it’s hard to figure things out.
