Four-piece Wellington melodic rock band This Silent Divide stop in at Auckland's Ding Dong Lounge this Friday 11 November and Hamilton’s Nivara Lounge this Saturday 12 November as part of a Covid-delayed tour to support their Tall Stories EP.
Muzic.net.nz describes the band's sound as "wall to wall anthemic rock that also contains pop melodies and is a guaranteed good time". “We know the people of Auckland and Hamilton love their rock music, playing live is a thrill and we can’t wait to unleash these songs for the locals”, says Shaun Jones, vocalist/rhythm guitarist, This Silent Divide. “We love the exhilaration of playing these songs loud and live and there’s nothing better than seeing the audience losing themselves in the moment”. “Legendary local venues like the Ding Dong Lounge in Auckland and Hamilton’s Nivara Lounge are the backbone of the live music-scene in New Zealand and after all the disruption of the past few years, live shows are now well and truly back in abundance - we’re delighted to be part of it”.
Tall Stories features relatable tales of love, coming back from isolation, and people who want to control and shut others down. The band’s singles Lucinda and Don't Give Up achieved independent radio play at various radio stations across the country¸ with the EP available to purchase on Bandcamp and on all major music streaming platforms.
The band will hit town fresh out of Wellington’s Surgery Studios working again with producer Toby Lloyd (Sea Mouse, Hollie Smith, Louis Baker, Shapeshifter) in late October on two further singles for release in early 2023. “It’s exciting to see the tracks morph and grow through the creative and studio process, the songs are sounding huge and we can’t wait to get them out into the world”, says Shaun.
