Venture into its rolling hills to discover a veritable eden, Te Awanga Downs, whose bucolic meadows play host to Outfield Festival — a celebration of music, food, arts, and community.

Now in its fourth year, Outfield is evolving and growing into an experience to ignite the senses. With camping options now available near the festival, you can soak up the idyllic surroundings and unwind in nature. Delivered with sunny Hawke’s Bay spirit, the festival prides itself on sustainable practices, care for the local environment, and the people who flock from far and wide.

Representing Te Aupouri, Nga Puhi & Ngai Te Rangi, living on the Coastlines of West Australia are Coterie, who are rapidly building a reputation as one of the most electrifying live acts on both sides of the Tasman. Immersed in a culture of surf and art, the band have developed a unique blend of soulful rock music with perfect 4-part harmonies that will have the Outfield audience singing along and demanding for more.

Outfield will also feature the dynamic hip-hop stylings of JessB, whose effortless stage presence and natural bars, rhythms and flows endear her to audiences everywhere. Since bursting onto the scene in 2017, she’s taken her initial momentum and whipped it into a whirlwind, making her a force to be reckoned with at home and around the globe.

Dance to the beat of P-Money at Outfield, Aotearoa’s most renowned Producer and DJ. His incredible talents in the studio and behind the decks have made him a household name in NZ and internationally. Only a handful of DJs can create both a great live mix and produce amazing original songs, move a dancefloor in the smallest club & knock out main-stage festival sets of legendary proportions. P-Money is an iconic figure in the music scene for very good reason.

Original Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) collective Rhombus celebrate 20 years of music releases in 2022. Spreading quality original NZ-sounding tracks comprising of wobbly bass, frenetic drum lines, and echoed synth; Rhombus are still the masters of their distinctive and unique sound. The presence of these staples of Kiwi dub & electronic bass music on the Outfield main stage will thrill their ever-expanding fan base and cult following.

Hailing from Newcastle, Australia is 4-piece woozy pop-rock band Vacations, you can except guitar driven indie pop gems on which Burns’ sonorous voice rides confidently high in the mix. Gleaming hooks scythe through the air and reverberate golden pop goodness at Outfield.

Traveling from the United Kingdom and bringing a combination of dark & dirty basslines Outfield is excited to bring you one of the most influential producer/remixers in Drum & Bass history, the legendary Dillinja, along with Kasra founder of Critical Music, a drum and bass label based in London, that is widely regarded as being at the forefront of the modern underground drum and bass scene.

Other musicians on the Outfield lineup include - No Cigar, Masaya, Body Ocean, Dolphin Friendly, Daffodils, Arahi, Frank Booker, Dateline, Hurricane Emily, Wattsson, Sunz, Wet Denim Ruffhouse Crew, Levi, Skye, Waja, Logee, BMC, Deep Fried Funk, High Rotation Soundsystem, Sneeky, Larry Nobody, Ella Pollett, The Cellars, Danica Bryant, Atlantic Wave, Liberty, DJ Untz, Bex On Dex and Zana.

Outfield’s team are veterans of the New Zealand music scene, with over a decade of touring top notch international and local acts under their belts. Continuing their legacy of joy creation, they turned their skills to curating a festival experience at home that is uniquely Hawke’s Bay.

Set in the nation’s fruit bowl, they tap into the abundance of local producers to provide the finest craft beers, wines and artisan delicacies delivering a feast of quality food and beverage options for festival fuel. Drawing from the burgeoning local arts scene, the space is transformed into a playground of delights for the young and young at heart alike. With a host of attractions on its doorstep, including a world class golf course, vintage car museum, and the world’s largest, most accessible gannet nesting place at nearby Cape Kidnappers Gannet Colony, Outfield isn’t just a festival.
