ABOUT TIDA:
Matida Nyamazana formally known as Tida is a Zimbabwean born, Aotearoa raised
rapper and songwriter. His connection with his Zimbabwean culture and Tamaki
Makaurau environment has shaped him to become the versatile artist he is today
and a name to look for in this upcoming afro-kiwi generation.
Tida’s passion for music stems from his journey to find self love and
belonging. From a young age Tida felt like Aoteroa was a foreign land where
people that looked like him were very few. He felt isolated due to the pigment
of his skin and to feel, well represented, safe and understood in his own skin,
music became a medium he would use to express himself.
It was a universal language he knew everyone would understand and even if they
didn’t have the same lens of eyes to look at life at, they could feel the
emotion in what he saying through his lyrics.
Tida is versatile. His sound possesses elements of various genres such as,
Afrobeat, Amapiano, Hiphop, and Drill.
Tida’s creativity and passion for music is fueled by his voyage through life
and the deep connections formed with those he encounters. As a young artist, he
continues to evolve as he finds new sources of inspiration to draw from and the
incorporation of dance has been taking his songwriting process to a whole other
level.
ABOUT SOUL BROWN:
Proud Samoan/Fijian from South Auckland - Soul Brown was surrounded by the
vibrancy of the Pasifika cultures that flood Manukau. Born into a family that
exposed him to eclectic genres, Soul has made his mark in Aotearoa’s music
scene by blending Pacific flavour with Latino heat.
Familiar with adversity, Soul triumphed over cancer when he was 12. His
writing, poetry and songs were initially born out of a need to escape his
reality, with the intention to inspire others to persist through tough times.
True to his message, he has been hustling in the music scene since his first
release - 2011’s Don’t Sweat It. Now after perfecting his craft, Soul has
dropped his brand new EP, All of My Love, which showcases his talent for
turning out irresistible and infectious, feel-good dance-floor fillers.
