Having been put on ice since 2010, Auckland four piece The Larry Normans are back on fire, breaking their lengthy silence by delivering 12 scorching tracks of pure down and dirty hard rock.

Original members guitarist Andrew Ashton, and drummer Paul ‘Bubs’ Stephenson, recruited singer Nathan Rea and bassist Jonathan Bowen to instil some high voltage, unbridled rock n’ roll back into their lives once again.
Not for reasons of nostalgia, but more due to an unquenchable thirst to make some fuel-injected chunky-riff garage/metal, The Larry Normans hold tight to their cherished rock roots.
Maybe slightly wiser than the early days but not much more grown up, this raucous foursome call on all the quarters with their heated blend of blazing guitar, fuzzy grooves, and classic blistering rock n roll.
Dirty Living was recorded and mixed at The Lab by Olly Harmer and produced by Barry Blackler. 12 tracks of searing tunes, Dirty Living is infused with the rebellious spirit of The Larry Normans channelling vibes from the pantheon of rock outliers Motörhead, Black Sabbath, The Stooges, QOTSA, MC5, and the like.
First single shared is fast-driving Coup De Grâs, a short, sharp discourse on the futility of war featuring layers of thrashing guitars and rocking a cow-bell, followed up by the heavy swagger of opening track HMF Sleeve, a savage warning shot about algorithms and rabbit holes - urging the listener to be careful what they seek.
Focus track Dead End Streets reveals the bands’ hooky side with its radio-friendly groove, while brutal title track Dirty Living injects the metal as singer Rea invokes the spirit of Lemmy.
Dirty Living is an album of hard-pounding cuts that packs a punch, with The Larry Normans defining the art form by delivering a straight-up masterclass in raw, rampant, hard and dirty rock n’ roll!
Dive in amongst it and get a winter sweat on - catch them live at one of their album release shows next month!
