The iconic Boxing Day Festival returns for its eighth edition at the breathtaking Cape Estate on Tuesday, 26th December 2023. Get ready to immerse yourself in a day of pure bliss as we bring you the best of Hawke's Bay's hospitality and entertainment in an enchanting open-air garden stage setting.

Nestled in the heart of Hawke's Bay, Cape Estate offers a picturesque view of the Te Awanga Downs, overlooking sprawling vineyards, the sparkling sea, and the awe-inspiring Hawkes Bay coastline landmark, Cape Kidnappers.

The musical line-up in 2023 features 17 artists from around Aotearoa and Hawke’s Bay representing a wide variety of musical genres, backgrounds, and experiences. Joining the lineup in 2023 will be one of NZ's most acclaimed singer-songwriters, Anna Coddington, who is known for her enchanting live performances & voice. Anna’s achievements include 4 albums to date, multiple nominations at the 2021 Waiata Māori Music Awards and a finalist for the 2021 Taite Music Prize. Her Mana-Wā-Hine EP, which featured a collection of waiata performed in te reo Māori, saw her win the 2022 Waiata Māori Music Award for Best Māori Album in Te Reo. Her songwriting prowess which has seen her in the prestigious Silver Scroll songwriting award Top 20 list four times. She is a regular contributor with Fly My Pretties, has performed at NZ’s top music and arts festivals, and has sung her way around the country on numerous tours. Anna is one of NZ's finest live vocalist, also known for her performances with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and The Blackbird Ensemble.

Sojourn will be bringing their psych & surf-rock reggae-sound to the main stage. A 6-piece band hailing from the sun-drenched surf-town of Mangawhai, NZ, the band has travelled far & wide, tuning up some wild & psychedelic tunes across their last two EPs. Be prepared for something different.

Jesper Tjärnfors will light up the electronic stage. hailing from Sweden, Jesper has quickly became a household name while based in Poneke/Wellington. Having played may shows, setting the floor for international DJ. His solo career sees his releases signed with three unique international labels – Rationalism Records, GLBDOM & Mixcult Records. All releases have seen premieres on revered channels across YouTube, Soundcloud and support from some of the top names within the minimal scene such as Arapu, Traumer, Silat Beksi, Per Hammar & Cosmjn to name a few.

Also joining in the electronic stage will be Levi, having played at festivals such as Mardi Gras, Outfield, Northern Bass and supporting international DJs in Poneke/Wellington. She will bring the drum and bass rollers to round off the festivities.
