Gig & Concert News - Dimmer announce special guest for Nov/Dec Tour

Dimmer announce special guest for Nov/Dec Tour

13 October 2023 - 0 Comments

Avant pop/classical artist Calla will join the band for two nights at the beautiful Hanover Hall in Ōtepoti. Calla's music is a listening experience designed to stir the depths of our primal and vulnerable inner worlds. Expect elements of operatic vocals, heavy bass, and hommages to the worlds of folk, pop, and cinema epics.

The musician that Shayne Carter describes as “frankly damn excellent”, Ben Woods will fly in from Melbourne and round up his band to bring his warbled, romantic songs to the mighty James Hay Theatre. Following his AMA nominated record Dispeller (which featured the likes of Womb, Alastair Galbraith and Marlon Williams), and shifting across the ditch to work on his next LP, this will be the only performance Ben Woods and his group will be doing in Aotearoa for 2023.

In Pōneke ambi electronic tone explorers Oghum will do sonorous things at the stunning Old St Paul’s. Oghum is the duo of Jonny Marks (The All Seeing Hand) and Nell Thomas (Orchestra of Spheres), conjuring sonic enchantments from this world and the next using vintage synthesizers, lesser known electronics, and other bits & bobs.

And the much celebrated Te Kaahu (with band) will bring her beautiful waiata to the Powerstation. A gorgeous and fiercely indie act, delivered entirely in te reo Māori, the audience are in for something special.
