Taupo Alternative Ska band Skarpakazoo are releasing their debut single The Dawning of the Last Night at Dave’s to all digital platforms on 8/12/23.

The Dawning of the Last Night at Dave’s is a full energy rollercoaster ride of a musical showcase consisting of a harmonious fusion of brass motifs, dynamic guitar shredding, and well-crafted vocal harmonies; all grounded by the rhythmic interplay of skanking guitars and pulsating bass lines.

The single tells the story of some misguided choices of the past and the adventures and misadventures that followed.

The accomplished ensemble that found its groove in July 2023. This collective of seasoned musicians brings a diverse musical background, spanning brass, punk, and metal, resulting in their unique take on Alternative Ska.

Performing dressed in their signature vibrant attire, Skarpakazoo exudes a seamless blend of skill and showmanship. In Skarpakazoo's universe, every performance is a wild celebration, proving that you can be seriously good without taking yourself too seriously.

“This track has been two years in the making and is the most exquisite thing I’ve heard in a long time. I can’t wait to share it!” Says lead vocalist, Mel.

Skarpakazoo will be celebrating the release of The Dawning of the Last Night at Dave’s with a free gig at Rosemary’s Taupō, supported by two other local acts.
