Kaylee Bell Announces New Album 'Nights Like This' Out Fri 15 March

01 February 2024 - 0 Comments

Fresh from winning ‘Best Female Artist’ at the Golden Guitar Awards in Australia over the weekend, New Zealand’s country-pop sensation Kaylee Bell is set to continue her meteoric rise with the release of her new album, Nights Like This, out Friday 15 March. In conjunction with this exciting announcement, Bell is thrilled to share a sneak peek into the album with the empowering new single, Life Is Tough (But So Am I), featuring the incredible talent of NAVVY. Life Is Tough (But So Am I) is bound to become an anthem for resilience and empowerment, showcasing Kaylee Bell's unique ability to blend genres seamlessly. The single is accompanied by a visually stunning music video shot in picturesque Auckland, reflecting the nostalgia of classic Kiwi childhood locations.

"NAVVY and I have been fans of each other's music for some time now, and we thought it'd be cool to bring our styles together for an uplifting energetic collision of country and pop. Life Is Tough (But So Am I) is a reminder to particularly young people that sometimes life will be hard, but the important thing is how you respond. We shot the video with Sophie Scott on a sunny Auckland day, reminiscing about our childhoods. We can't wait to bring this song to life for fans on tour starting next month!" - Kaylee Bell

Nights Like This takes fans on a thrilling country pop journey, featuring a mix of previously released singles and new offerings that showcase Bell’s growth and versatility. Recorded in the heart of Nashville by acclaimed producers Lindsay Rimes and Brandon Hood, the album is a testament to Bell's songwriting prowess, with her fingerprints all over the track list.

The album features an impressive line-up of Nashville A-list musicians, including Tom Bukovac, Mark Hill, and Chris McHugh, known for their work with country giants like Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood. Bell's collaboration with long-time friends and co-writers Lindsay Rimes and Phil Barton adds a familiar and catchy friendliness to the record.

One of the standout tracks, Where Were You, unveils a new side of Bell, showcasing her vocal depth and vulnerability in a ballad reminiscent of 90's country influences like Faith Hill. Another welcome addition to Nights Like This is a cover of Alanis Morissette’s You Learn, paying homage to one of Bell's earliest musical influences.

The inclusion of a stripped-back version of her biggest single Keith speaks to the organic growth of Bell's career. Originally released five years ago, the track gained traction in the US in late 2023, charting on the US Billboard charts, showcasing the enduring appeal of Bell's music.

Adding to the excitement, Kaylee Bell is expanding her national tour with an additional date in Balclutha on Tuesday 2 April. Bell will be the first artist to play Te Pou Ō Mata-Au, the new state of the art theatre in the town. Tickets for this new date go on sale 11am today Thursday 1 February from Ticketmaster. This will mark 13 dates across Aotearoa for the tour, and fans are encouraged to get in quickly to secure their spot. Head to eccles.co.nz for all Kaylee Bell touring details.

Nights Like This promises to be a defining moment in Bell's career, showcasing her evolution as an artist and her ability to create music that resonates across genres. The album is a collection of 'hits,' reflecting Bell's contagious energy and spirit that makes her a formidable presence on the international stage and will be available on CD, vinyl and digitally.
