After an incubation period of around 4.5 years emerges Benny Tones brilliant album 'Chrysalis'. Crafted in the Wellington studio of this highly regarded NZ audio engineer this time capsule represents Benny Tones' re-introduction as a producer and features a diverse host of vocal and instrumental collaborators he has worked with over the years including Electric Wire Hustle's Mara TK, Taay Ninh & Myele Manzanza, Fat Freddy's Drop front man Joe Dukie, Shapeshifter's Devin Abrams & Sam Trevethick, Rio Hemopo, Adi Dick, Isaac Aesili, LA's Shihan the Poet and many more.
"Benny's production can be large and expansive, sucking you in and creating its own orbit for you, or conversely, stripped back, raw and upfront. Either way, his tunes are always carefully crafted and considered, creating individual soundtracks that are both soul and space." - Taay Ninh (Electric Wire Hustle / Solaa)
"It's fantastic to see Mr Benny Tones put this album out, as he has given so much to all the artists around him. This album is a true taste of all the talents Benny has!" Devin Abrams (Shapeshifter / Pacific Heights)
