With songs from their classic albums, including Worldservice, Broadcast, Vicarious, No New Messages and 2023’s Knucklebones, Strawpeople make a rare live appearance following impressive shows at the Splore and WOMAD festivals earlier this year.
Featuring all the favourites from the APRA award winning Sweet Disorder, sung by Leza Corban, to Trick With A Knife, Taller Than God (Fiona McDonald) and Faith and Under the Milky Way (Stephanie Tauevihi), this is a chance to see one of New Zealand’s favourite groundbreaking electronic acts of the 1990's playing the soundtrack of a generation assisted by top musicians including Chris Van de Geer of Stellar fame and keyboardist to the stars Matthias Jordan.
After a hiatus of 19 years the band released the album Knucklebones in 2023, becoming a live act for an RNZ performance which led to invitations to Splore and Womad where they played to thousands of fans. Founding member Paul Casserly says “WOMAD was so magical we wanted to share the love with our Auckland fans in a full show in the city’s best live venue.”
Tickets available from Under The Radar.
