September 25th will see the iconic Blue Pub host a free outdoor music festival set between the stunning back drop of the snow capped Southern Alps and the front of the world famous Blue Pub. The line up is huge with a host of talented musicians descending on Methven for one massive night of free entertainment.
The action kicks off at 6pm on an outdoor stage and will consists of 8 awesome live music acts including Doppler, Flying Solo, Taos, The Julian Temple Band, Soulsystem, Ethanol 58, The Giddy Robbins Trio and Benny T. The evening promises to offer something for all music fans including classic Kiwi rock from local home town favourites Doppler, to bass driven punk soulful blues and distinctive kiwi dub reggae sounds from Taos and Soulsystem.
Adam Wilson lead singer from Doppler is pumped to be making the return to Methven for their fist gig at the Blue since the band made the decision to make the move to Auckland in June this year. “The guys are amped to be heading home to play a huge outdoor show, we can’t wait. We’re really looking forward to putting on a massive show and playing alongside such a great line up.”
The Summit Rocks Methven music festival is in conjunction with The Mt Hutt spring festival 2010 includes a wide variety of snow sports and community events between Methven and Mt Hutt. As the action cools down from a hectic day of skiing, ridding or just enjoying some of the entertainment and events on Mt Hutt things will be heating up in town. The Summit Rocks Methven Music festival opens at 6pm and will rock on into the evening so make sure you’re there to enjoy a great night of free entertainment with some fantastic Kiwi musicians, the great atmosphere of the Spring festival and The Blue Pub.
