Alt. country rock n’ roll band Devils Elbow hit the road in Oct/Nov for a string of shows throughout the country with support from Grand Prix front man Andrew McKenzie.
The band will be hustling their long awaited debut album ‘SANDON CHROME’ (released August 26) recorded at Hit Your Head Music and mixed & mastered by legendary producer Ian G. Morris (Th’ Dudes, Dave Dobbyn, Hello Sailor, Screaming MeeMees). The tour will see the band travel the length of the country taking their brand of rough edge alt. country rock to their fast growing fan base.
The band toured NZ in February 2010 with USA’s Grant Hart (Husker Du). To coincide with that tour the bands debut single ‘KO’ was released and has received repeat plays on bFM, Radio Control, RDU, Radio One, Radio Active, The Most, VBC as well as numerous other local and community stations. ‘KO’ has featured on The Rock’s ‘Off The Record’ and ‘Advanced Warning’ feature shows as well as spending weeks in the KIWI FM ‘Top 10’.
Devils Elbow, formed in 2007, are based in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. The band consists of core members Alec Withers (ex-Tempo 38) on vocals/guitar, and Andrew Gladstone (ex-Garageland) on drums/vocals. The band plays live as a duo and in various other formations including bass players, acoustic sets and featuring various ‘quests’. Joining the band on bass for the tour will be ex-Green Beaver (AUS) front man Dominic Coyle.
