Gig & Concert News - Hikoikoi (New Zealand) Announce Australian Tour

20 November 2010 - 0 Comments

Rock reggae band Hikoikoi are proud to announce the dates of their first Australian tour.

The 7 venue tour will see them visit Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and play at two major festivals. The Shine On festival is a three-day music and arts camping festival held in the PyrenessRanges, Victoria and the Byron Bay Reggaefest celebrates 50 years of reggae with conscious reggae and dancehall artists from all over the world.

Hikoikoi’s Australian tour builds on the success of their selection for Woodford’s Dreaming Festival in June this year where they wowed audiences with their roots rock blend and performed alongside indigenous artists from Australia and the Pacific. The huge response encouraged their dream to take the music on a full scale tour.

Brisbane’s Rave Magazine described about their live show at the Dreaming saying that “Hikoikoi described themselves as soul and reggae revivalists, but their set blends grunge rock and psychedelia in an appealing way’s Rave Magazine described about their live show at the Dreaming saying that “Hikoikoi described themselves as soul and reggae revivalists, but their set blends grunge rock and psychedelia in an appealing way"

Hikoikoi recently toured the South Island with their latest single Time Walking and opened for USA group Groundation in both Auckland and Wellington. And earlier this month eventfinder announced Hikoikoi  as "New Zealand's hardest working band."
