New Jersey Punk Rock icons The Bouncing Souls made a much-anticipated trip to New Zealand last week, playing Wellington and Auckland on a double bill with Florida’s Hot Water Music.
Thanks to band management and show promoters, Nick Douch from the Fill The House Tickets Project was able to meet with The Bouncing Souls before their Kings Arms show in Auckland.
The Fill The House Tickets Project is a nationwide, voluntary organisation that organises show tickets for Child Cancer Foundation network families for some welcome time out from the stress of dealing with a sick child.
Current benefits to the NZ Child Cancer Foundation of the ongoing project have exceeded $10m in commercial terms.
Nick spent a good amount of time talking to all four members of ‘The Souls’ and was stoked to be invited on stage to perform on drums a section of their song ‘Gone’.

“It was a huge privilege to hang out and play with the band that got me into Punk Rock music a few years back and who is still my favourite Punk Band," says Nick. "It was a very cool night.”
The Bouncing Souls and Hot Water Music played with passion and drive to the packed, enthusiastic Auckland Crowd and finished the night with members of both bands performing their signature songs ‘Wayfarer (HWM) and ‘True Believers’ (BS)
This was a punk rock show that will be remembered for years to come.
Nick is the drummer for kiwi rock band Eqwanox.
