LADY ANTEBELLUM ANNOUNCE VERY SPECIAL GUESTS

New Zealand Award Winning Country Duo

Country music duo Michael & Ashley have been chosen to open for Lady Antebellum at their first ever Auckland concert at the beautiful Civic Theatre next Monday 18^th April.

New Zealand IDOL finalist, Ashley Cooper, and veteran singer/songwriter, Michael Tipping, began performing as a duo in September of 2008. In October, just one month later, they were named the winners of the Rising Star Award at the Variety Artist Club Annual Awards Show.

Ashley & Michael have recently returned from the United States and have appeared on the Johnny High’ Country Music Revue, the springboard for such superstars LeAnn Rimes, Steve Holy, Lee Ann Womack, Gary Morris, Linda Davis, Box Car Willie, and John Anderson.

Added to this Michael & Ashley have just been crowned 2010 New Zealand Country Duo of the year at the National Country Music awards.

A perfect match for Lady Antebellum’s Auckland show, don’t miss this very special evening!

Meanwhile 2011 has proved to be a remarkably successful year for Nashville, Tennessee trio Lady Antebellum. 

Currently touring Australia with Keith Urban, this will be their first ever visit to New Zealand and it will no doubt be an event not to be missed, and here’s just some of the reasons why.....

In New Zealand the single ‘Need You Now’ (which also appeared in the hit show Glee to 1.1million viewers) has hit:

· #5 on the NZ Singles Chart
· #1 on the Airplay chart
· the album, ‘Need You Now’ debuted at #1 in NZ and has just gone Platinum!

Lady Antebellum ended their night at the 53^rd Annual GRAMMY Awards as the big winners, taking home 5 awards for the highly coveted:

· Record of the Year
· Song of the Year
· Performance by a Duo or Group
· Country Song of The Year for their smash hit ‘Need You Now’
· Country Album of the Year for the US triple PLATINUM ‘Need You Now’

On Sunday 3^rd April Lady Antebellum attended the 46^th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, where they picked up 3 ACM trophies for ‘Need You Now’ :

· Vocal Group of the Year, for the second consecutive time
· Album of the Year, Artist
· Album of the Year, Producer

And the successes continue, with Lady Antebellum’s Grammy winning hit ‘Need You Now’ recently becoming the No. One most downloaded country song of all time this week,

surpassing Taylor Swift’s ‘Love Story’ to claim the title.  Which all leads to this being the perfect time for them to head to New Zealand!
