The new album ‘HELPLESSNESS BLUES’ available now.

Tapping into a vein of lyrical and harmonic whimsy, this Seattle based “baroque harmonic pop” collective’s early releases; Sun Giant EP and self-titled debut LP were the surprise hits of 2008, brimming with inviting melodies, evocative lyrics, and open-armed harmonizing. The band became gloriously inescapable – gathering universal acclaim everywhere they travelled.

Their highly anticipated disarmingly beautiful 2011 release Helplessness Blues is a gorgeous record that draws influence and inspiration from popular music and folk rock of the mid ‘60s to the early ‘70s. It's a synthesis of folk rock, traditional folk, & psychedelic pop, with an emphasis on group vocal harmonies. Helplessness Blues is set to become one of the albums of the year for 2011 and is to be unleashed live on New Zealand audiences for the first time in 2012…

“Fleet Foxes return with sombre words but glowing melodies … and a hint of Yes.” – Nick Bollinger, The Listener

“Their acoustic-driven folksy sound remains intact but the references are now broader with the close harmony of the Beach Boys more to the fore in some places as are reference points like America and other close harmony country-folk bands of the Seventies.” - Graham Reid, NZ Herald

“Helplessness Blues is comparatively deeper, more intricate, and more complex, a triumphant follow-up to a blockbuster debut” – Pitchfork
