Rock fans rejoice! Seether are returning to New Zealand!
Los Angles based post-grunge alt-metal rockers Seether are heading back to New Zealand on a five album career high, in support of their most successful release to date Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray.
New Zealand has always been very welcoming towards Seether – in terms of albums and chart positions we’re one of the band’s top 3 territories in the world. Current single Tonight is already a NZ radio favourite receiving ‘A’ list rotation on The Rock FM amongst others. This follows hard on the heels of first single Country Song which proved to be one of the band’s biggest ever songs world-wide. Both singles instantly take their place in what is now a remarkable line of huge hit airplay songs and singles.
Averaging over 200 shows per year Seether are a force of nature and totally committed to their live performances. Announcing the upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour Seether frontman Shaun Morgan is thrilled to be returning"We are anxious and excited to get back. It has been three years too long and we have a lot of catching up to do with our fans. We can't wait to see everyone at the shows."
Seether will play at Studio in Auckland on Friday February 10th.
The band have kept ticket prices as low as possible for their fans in appreciation of their continued support. Earlybird tickets are only $59 plus booking fees, details below.
2011 has been a tremendous year for Seether and these shows are perfectly timed to catch the band in a celebratory mood. Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray was released in May to their best ever chart positions in the States: #2 on the US Billboard Chart, #1 on the US Rock Chart, #1 Alternative Chart, #1 Hard Rock Chart. The NZ debut was #6.
The album was produced by the legendary Brendan O’Brien, adding Seether to his cast of stellar credits that include Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Rage Against the Machine and Neil Young.
Originally founded in Johannesburg by Shaun Morgan and Dale Stewart, Seether have sold millions of albums worldwide across their ten year, five album history. Their last album - the platinum selling Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces (2007) contained the radio smash and huge NZ hit Fake It and the equally anthemic Rise Above This. Country Song is the most played rock record in the States in 2011 and their fifth single to top the chart. The accompanying video has clocked up more than two million combined plays.
Seether have spent the past two months touring as one of the headline acts on the Uproar Festival alongside Avenged Sevenfold, Three Days Grace, Bullet For My Valentine and Escape The Fate amongst other acts.
Last seen in New Zealand headlining Southern Amp 08 Festival Seether’s epic riffs and thunderous rhythms are heading back our way with the band in the form of their lives.
