While it is too late for members of the public to purchase GoldMember tickets to Wanaka’s Rippon Festival, those who have them in their possession have been treated to the news that they will be entertained by the likes of Anika Moa, Anna Coddington, Julia Deans and Flip Grater inside the Rippon Hall next February.
This news comes alongside the announcement that the limited number of GoldMember tickets sold out earlier this week, reports event manager, Lisa Simmers.
While GoldMember tickets are no longer available, Simmers confirms that just under 20% of general tickets are still available to festival-goers keen to see the likes of The Datsuns, Kora and Trinity Roots perform at a rare South Island gig.
Playing their first ever Wanaka set will be Orchestra of Spheres, Lord Echo, Street Chant and The Yoots, all of whom have great plans for their inaugural Central Otago performances.
“We’re gonna smash it,” claims one musician, who wished to remain anonymous, for fear of receiving a spanking from other musicians.
The biennial festival, which also features Katchafire, AHoriBuzz, P Digsss, Sunshine Sound System and Disasteradio, will celebrate fourteen years since Lake Wanaka SouNZ Inc staged the first event at the end last millennium.
